One post won’t do this topic justice, but I wanted to start sharing some of my thoughts on the subject of clone golf clubs vs. name brand golf clubs. Let’s start by letting the cat out of the bag; I think that clone golf clubs warrent a very close look by anyone in the market for new clubs.
Several years ago, I caught the golf bug after not having played since my youth. I had some hand-me-down golf clubs from my father – a set of Wilson irons, complete with persimmon drivers. He took a variety of measurements including my height, distance from the floor to my hands and swing speed. We talked about many different aspects of my golf game including my typical ball flight pattern.
With this information in hand, he built me a set of custom built clone golf clubs. That was 10 years ago and I still play the same clubs today.
